7×7: New Czech Films in La Coruña

Seven award-winning contemporary Czech films will be presented in seven Spanish film theatres. The cycle will be launched in Murcia in the presence of the Czech Ambassador to Spain, Ivan Jančárek, and the Director of the Czech Centre Madrid, Jana Polívková.

The spectacular success of Emil Zátopek, the 18-time world record holder, comes alive in the memories of his family, friends and rivals. Ron Clarke, an Australian runner, visited Zátopek in 1968. During their dialogue we are transported back in time to the beginnings of Emil’s passion for running, his first success at the WCA in Berlin, his meeting with javelin thrower Dana, his future wife, but we also learn about the growing pressure of the communist regime.
