Animated Film ‘Daughter’ Has Made It to the Oscar Awards

The short puppet film by Dariya Kashcheeva from FAMU in Prague has already won 40 awards and made it to the official Oscar nomination. The film about family relationships, guilt, and forgiveness also brings an innovative approach to animation techniques.

Daughter (Dcera), an animated drama made by Daria Kashcheeva, a student of the Department of Animated film of FAMU in coproduction with MAUR film, has made it to the Oscar awards in the Animated Short film category along with the final five other films. They will compete for the Academy Award. The Daughter was on the shortlist along with another Czech film, director Václav Marhoul’s The Painted Bird (Nabarvené ptáče), which made it to the International Feature Film shortlist.
