Archa Theatre Summer School 2021

Published June 13, 2021

Major aim of the Summer School is to be able to help participants find their own voice in the creative process. This year the summer school will take place between 22 August – 5 September 2021.

Major aim of the Summer School is to be able to help participants find their own voice in the creative process. With three main ateliers on the Viewpoints technique and textual sources of documentary theatre, light as a space for action, and sound design for stage, the school provides a platform for participants where they can gain practical skills for creating contemporary theatre. Besides these ateliers, they will also have the chance to follow exclusive presentations of international experts.

A very important part of summer school is the forming of creative groups and producing a short performance in these groups using the skills the participants will acquire in the ateliers.  During this creative process, the students will have the chance to consult the instructors and use Archa Theatre’s advanced theatrical tools.

There has been an increased focus on social and political issues in theatrical creation. Archa Theatre promotes artistic practices that have the courage to examine topical issues expressed in a specific theatrical language. The International Summer School is a platform for experimentation and investigation in the field of contemporary theatre. The program promises students to get acquainted with theatre in a social context with the help of Archa Theatre’s artistic vision and theatrical tools.
