Four Czech Books among a Selection of the Best Books for Children and Young Adults

Four Czech books were included in this year’s prestigious annual catalog, The White Ravens / A Selection of International Children’s and Youth Literature, which summarizes a selection of the best books for children and young adults from all over the world.

The books, that are part of the selection are:

  • Anička, the talking stream and other inmates of the Mrs. Majerová Institute (Prague: Meander, 2019) by Petr and Eva Koťátková
  • The Atlas of Exterminated Animals written by Radek Malý and illustrated by Jiří Grbavčic and Pavel Dvorský (Prague: Albatros, 2019)
  • It’s the subway, dad! by the trio Milada Rezková and illustrators Jan Šrámek and Veronika Vlková (Prague: Paseka, 2019)
  • Jedééém! by Ester Stará, Marie Urbánková (Prague: Pop-Pap, 2018)

The White Ravens catalogs are prepared by the Internationale Jugendbibliothek, the world’s largest library for children and young people, in Munich every autumn and present a selection of 200 titles in more than 30 languages ​​from around 50 countries.
