ONE® – an Orchestra Network for Europe, a distinctive network of classical symphony orchestras active since 2004, has been supported by the EU’s through the Culture and Creative Europe Programmes from 2005 on. Over the years, it has a track record of achieving significant results in artist mobility, intercultural dialogue across borders and capacity building. It has maintained a committed group of partners. The partners face 3 challenges/issues which were addressed at: -Changing the image of the classical music sector: how the classical music sector broke from its conventional and elitist image. -Emphasizing the artist profile of the orchestra musicians: how the orchestras gave more artistic responsibility to their musicians. -Widening and diversifying the classical music audiences: how the orchestras reached new and younger audiences while expanding their relationship with their existing audiences.
