DA Academy is an online source of quality European films and teaching materials suitable for teaching about film at schools. It is an international platform for the development of film literacy. The organizers have developed it since the spring of 2015 in collaboration with seven European documentary film festivals associated within Doc Alliance.
All of the films and materials are available for free. Doc Alliance Academy currently offers nine remarkable Czech and international documentary films. “Documentary films are no longer mere bearers of information. They enter the field of fiction films and bring variety to TV production. They stir discussion and ask questions. These are some of the reasons why they are suitable for the school curriculum,” says managing director Nina Numankadić.
