The project Imagine Europe. A House History proposes an interdisciplinary journey into a network of emblematic European houses interacting with & finding new inspirations from young artists, students & citizens across Europe. In the context of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, it casts light on a less known chapter of the history of cultural heritage in Europe & attempts to propose new innovative ways of embracing & promoting its creative potential. “Emblematic” can be understood as architecturally designed for a person of interest to European common culture during the 20th. It will show how emblematic houses previously designed or inhabited by Europe’s most creative minds still represent today a resource of creativity & inspiration for artists, young generations & citizens. It will also illustrate how these houses can find a new purpose, reinvent their environments & find new audiences.
