Czech artist Luboš Plný won this year’s Biennial of Contemporary Drawing in Skopje, Macedonia, for Caput Mortuum from 2019 (pictured).

Luboš Plný was born in 1961, sometimes he is referred to as the representative of art brut. He is self-taught in artistic expression. According to experts, his work has the character of a lifelong conceptual project, in which artistic work is closely connected with pseudoscientific experiments on one’s own body.

The event, which celebrates its 75th anniversary, was attended by 260 artists from 44 countries, presenting a total of 819 works. 75 artists advanced to the final.
