Civilized Woman: The Ideal and Paradox of the First Republic Visual Culture won Silver Award in the Artistic Catalogue category.
The author of the book Martina Pachmanová approached graphic designers Barbora Toman Tylová and Tibor Vizi. The graphic team created a unique artwork for the book publication based on the exhibition of the same name at the Moravian Gallery.
The catalogue deals with women’s emancipation in relation to the visual culture of interwar Czechoslovakia and presents with how a civilized / modern woman was portrayed and themed in various areas of Czech interwar visual culture – in addition to fine arts, the exhibition focuses on living, design, clothing, advertising, film, photography or period magazines and book production.
