The Lake by Bianca Bellová translated from the Czech by Alex Zucker is nominated for EBRD Literature Prize which celebrates translated literature.
Competition celebrates translated literature from the regions, diversity of cultures and the rich literary expression from regions ranging from central and eastern Europe to Central Asia, the Western Balkans and the southern and eastern Mediterranean. It also celebrates the role of translators as “bridges” between cultures.
The EBRD Literature Prize 2023 will be awarded to both the writer and the translator of the best work of literary fiction written in any language of the EBRD regions, translated into English, and published for the first time by a European (including UK) publisher in the eligible period. Winning writer and translator to be revealed in spring 2023.
